Input Buffering
DEFINITION
Recording a press slightly before the game can use it, then acting on it at the first valid frame.

The Shumiwu shell keeps a key held state rather than an event queue, so games that poll the keyboard every frame — Maze Dash, Kite Climb, Dodge Saw — naturally buffer your input. Games driven by discrete taps do not: in Stack Tower a press during a drop animation is simply ignored, which is why mashing loses there.
